Ford is aiming to reduce complexity by streamlining the Bronco lineup and addressing customer feedback

The 2024 Ford Bronco is a bit of a departure as the entry-level model was dropped, pushing the base price from $34,890 to $39,130. That’s a significant jump, but Ford’s Ed Krenz spoke about the changes at the Woodward Dream Cruise last night.
As you’re undoubtedly aware, the Bronco lineup has ballooned since the model returned for 2021. This has resulted in a dizzying array of variants including Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Badlands, Outer Banks, Heritage, Everglades, Wildtrak, and Raptor. That’s a mouthful, but it’s just scratching the surface as the Badlands offered Standard, Mid, High, and Lux equipment groups as well as a Sasquatch package and countless other options.
That’s a ton of complexity, so it comes as little surprise that Ford wanted to simplify things and focus on making the Bronco better. In order to do this, they listened to customer feedback and took a closer look at the lineup as well as equipment.

While the price jump creates catchy headlines, the Base model was only a small part of the lineup. It’s also worth noting there are real improvements as the Bronco Big Bend trades its 8-inch infotainment system for a larger 12-inch display, despite retaining the same $39,130 sticker.
In other news, Ford’s Matt Simpson said the 2024 Bronco Sport Free Wheeling Edition is seeing strong demand. It pays tribute to the original Free Wheeling package from the 1970’s and sees the crossover outfitted with retro-inspired graphics, a silver grille, and black wheels with contrasting red accents. The colorful theme continues in the cabin with red flourishes and “sunset-colored” seat inserts.
