In January, the Kia EV6 was named Utility Vehicle of the Year by the North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards (NACTOY) and to celebrate a limited edition version of the crossover has been introduced at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering. The car has been creatively named the Kia EV6 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year Limited Edition. Yes, seriously.

Kia will build just 1,000 examples of the special model, each combining elements from the standard Wind and GT-Line trim levels. While pricing details will not be announced until a later date, we do know that each example will be painted in a special color known as Deep Forest Green, a color developed exclusively for this model.

Helping to ensure the exterior finish isn’t too bright are blacked-out wheel arch moldings, rocker panels, wing mirrors, and the lower sections of the front and rear bumpers. These elements have been lifted from the EV6 Wind and are joined with the same 20-inch alloy wheels as the EV6 GT-Line.

The interior of the Limited Edition is finished in Desert Beige which Kia says “pays homage to classic performance vehicle styling combinations” when working alongside the Deep Forest Green paint. The cabin has also been outfitted with NACTOY medallions to remind owners every time they step inside of the car’s award-winning prowess. Also found inside are the same safety systems and features as the EV6 GT-Line, including an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Kia’s Highway Driving Assist 2. It is also fitted with a sunroof, a heated steering wheel as well as heated front and rear seats.

Beneath the skin is the EV6’s familiar 77.4 kWh battery pack that drives a 99 hp (74 kW) electric motor at the front axle and a 221 hp (165 kW) motor at the rear axle.

“With the EV6 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year Limited Edition, we have created a rolling testament to the EV6’s tremendous achievement in this year’s NACTOY competition,” Kia America chief operating officer and executive vice president Steven Center said in a press release.
