EarthCruiser is finally ready to show off its take on a pop-top camper version of the GMC Hummer. Based on the all-electric pickup variant, the retrofitted camper adds a bed, a sink, and even more batteries for up to seven days of off-grid camping.

“We are proud to work with GMC on the design and manufacturing of such an exceptional product. It feels right, it feels like it belongs,” said EarthCruiser CEO and Founder Lance Gillies. “Using our years of overlanding expertise, we have ensured nothing is out of place, unnecessary or wasted in this vehicle.”

Big enough to sleep two, the GMC Hummer EV EarthCruiser adds a carbon fiber topper to the pickup that provides more room for campers. Thanks to its tri-layer design, the camper can keep occupants comfortable whatever the weather.

EarthCruiser Adds Cook Top, Sink, And Sleeping Room For Two To 2024 GMC Hummer EV

With the roof down, the vehicle is 90-inches (229 cm) tall, while fully extended, the height rises to 117 inches (297 cm). That means 80 inches (203 cm) of standing room at the entry, 76 inches (193 cm) in the hallway, and 35 inches (89 cm) in the bed area, which contains a full-size RV mattress.

In addition, the pop-top tent has a 605W solar panel on top and 6 kWh of 12V lithium-ion batteries to help power appliances like the refrigerator, the freezer, the induction cook top, and more for up to a week.

When the weather is a little warmer, campers can get clean using the outdoor shower that connects to a 13.5-gallon (51-liter) fresh water tank. That also serves the sink, and campers can get clean drinking water inside or outside of the vehicle.

In addition, EarthCruiser has equipped the Hummer with storage compartments inside and out, as well as a seven-inch touchscreen to control the interior and exterior lights, among other things.

Neither the weight nor the cost of adding all of these features has been made clear, but for customers who want one regardless, EarthCruiser is accepting $100 deposits for pre-orders on its website. Expected to be available to customers in 2024 through EarthCruiser, the upfit is not covered by GM’s warranty.
