Dodge has a well-earned reputation for blue collar performance, but things are getting complicated as the Charger and Challenger are sailing off into the sunset. To make matters worse, Ram recently announced plans to end production of the 1500 TRX later this year.

That leaves enthusiasts with few options from Stellantis, but thankfully the Durango SRT and SRT Hellcat are sticking around for 2024. The former has a 6.4-liter V8 pumping out 475 hp (354 kW / 482 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. It’s paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system, which enables the model to run from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds.

The SRT Hellcat, on the other hand, has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 710 hp (529 kW / 720 PS) and 645 lb-ft (874 Nm) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the dash to 60 mph (96 km/h) takes a mere 3.5 seconds. The SUV can also hit a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) and run the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds.

2024 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Survives As The Last Bastion Of Performance

Now that you can breathe a sigh of relief, let’s look at the updates for 2024. There’s not much to report, but Blind Spot Monitoring is now standard across the Durango lineup. Models equipped with the Trailer Tow Group also come with a new Blind Spot Monitoring system that has a trailer detection function.

Besides the new safety features, the 2024 Durango Citadel will be offered with the Tow N Go Package that has proven popular on the Durango R/T. The package gives the model an SRT-inspired makeover thanks to a sporty body kit and 20-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero all-season tires. The package also adds red or black brake calipers, depending on the trim.

The “menacing looks” are joined by an active damping suspension, an electronic limited slip differential, and a retuned active noise cancellation system. Other highlights include a 5.7-liter HEMI V8, an increased top speed of 145 mph (233 km/h), and a towing capacity of up to 8,700 lbs (3,946 kg).

Dodge didn’t mention pricing, but the 2023 Durango starts at $40,140 and climbs into the six-figure range for the SRT Hellcat Premium.
