The much-anticipated Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has finally shed all of its camouflage, giving us an early look at its more aggressive styling. Not one but three prototypes of the flagship electric sedan were spotted at the Nurburgring, likely during another lap record attempt before their forthcoming debut.
The Taycan Turbo GT will crown the lineup of Porsche’s facelifted EV as the most powerful and track-focused version. The model made its spy debut in October 2022, but this is the first time we see it without camouflage. The front bumper gets a new design with sharper side intakes and prominent fins attached to the larger splitter. We can also see the revised LED headlights highlighted by sharper surfacing on the front fenders.

Likewise, the tail of the Turbo GT gets additional outlets on the rear bumper, an extension to the diffuser with more aerodynamic fins, and a fixed rear wing mounted on a new ducktail spoiler. The wing appears to be made of carbon fiber, as with the mirror caps. The prototypes came fitted with different alloy wheels featuring five-spoke designs and hiding larger drilled brake discs behind them. The roll cage that was added for safety during the hot laps isn’t expected to make it in the final production version.
Besides the more aggressive stance – and most likely a revised chassis setup – the Turbo GT is rumored to feature a tri-motor electric powertrain, resulting in a power output of around 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS). This represents a healthy bump over the 750 hp (560 kW / 761 PS) of the current dual-motor Taycan Turbo S, bringing it closer to the 1,020 hp (761 kW / 1,034 PS) of the Tesla Model S Plaid. The latter stole the lap record from Porsche with an impressive 7:25.23, and the Turbo GT aims to rectify that.
According to our spy photographers, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT visited the Nurburgring for a lap record attempt with factory driver Lars Kern behind the wheel. Despite the fact that rain started pouring during the first lap, the Turbo GT reportedly achieved a lap time between Rimac Nevera’s 7:05.298 and Tesla Model S Plaid’s 7:25.231 raising expectations for the future.
Judging from the uncovered prototypes, Porsche will likely reveal the Taycan Turbo GT sometime in the coming months, most likely together with the facelifted Taycan range.
