Going electric isn’t easy, but Hyundai is making the process a bit less painful by giving customers a free charger as well as discounted installation.

The program applies to customers who purchase or lease a new Kona Electric, Ioniq 5 or Ioniq 6 through Hyundai Motor Finance by October 31.

Afterwards, customers will receive a complimentary ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger that is valued at $549. Hyundai is also providing an installation credit of up to $600, which means the offer provides up to $1,149 in savings.

That being said, there are some conditions as customers only have 90 days from the date of purchase or lease to schedule the installation of their charger. It’s also worth noting the credit may not cover the full cost of installation as there are a variety of factors that can push up the price including your home’s electrical setup and the distance to the charger.

However, even if installation does cost you extra, you’re still getting a free Level 2 charger and a healthy discount. Customers living in homes with a modern electrical system, plenty of room in their electrical box, and a short run to the charger could also, potentially, get everything for free.

Hyundai Motor North America CEO José Muñoz said the company is “focused on offering a wide range of high-quality EVs for our customers to choose from, but we know that the charging infrastructure and the process of preparing their homes is at the forefront of the minds of many EV-curious buyers.” As a result, they’re “making it easier for everyone to go electric by providing our EV customers with an expert Energy Advisor who can personally walk them through the process of outfitting their homes with the proper charging, energy storage and collection equipment using our Hyundai Home Marketplace.”

The latter is billed as a one-stop shop for your home’s electrification needs as you can schedule installation of EV chargers as well as purchase solar panels and home energy storage systems.
