Great Wall Motor is eagerly growing its ORA brand across the UK, announcing that it has opened up eight new test drive centers across the country while also introducing a new variant of the Funky Cat.
The new Ora Funky Cat First Edition+ will hit the local market on October 12 and be available from £33,795 ($40,777). Whereas the standard Funky Cat is outfitted with a small 48 kWh battery pack, the First Edition+ comes with a larger 63 kWh battery, boosting its range from 193 miles (310 km) to 260 miles (418 km) on the WLTP test cycle.
Elsewhere, GWM has given the Funky Cat First Edition+ heated, cooled, and massage front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and automatic parking assistance. Shoppers will also be able to order it in two of the brand’s most popular color configurations at no additional cost, consisting of Aroura Green with a Moonlight White or Starry Black roof and Mars Red with a Starry Black roof.

Plenty of safety features will come as standard on the Funky Cat First Edition+. These include front collision warning and auto emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear cross-traffic alert, smart cruise control, lane change assist, and blind spot detection. Just 50 examples will be offered in the UK.
The new test drive centers opened by GWM across the UK offer test drives, sales and service support for current and prospective ORA owners. Each location has an EV expert to answer questions and after taking a test drive, owners can place an order and schedule delivery which usually takes between one to two weeks. The opening of these new sites now means that ORA has 26 customer service points in the UK.
