Last month, Kia announced the 2024 EV9 would start at $54,900. Fast forward to today and the company has released pricing for additional variants.

Kicking things off is the $59,200 EV9 Light Long Range. It’s largely identical to the entry-level Light, but trades the seven-seat interior for a six-seat arrangement. Buyers will also find HomeLink as well as a handful of options – including a sunroof and a heated steering wheel – that aren’t available on the base model.

The big news is the powertrain as the EV9 Light Long Range has a 99.8 kWh battery pack, which powers a rear-mounted electric motor developing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 8.8 seconds, hit a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h), and travel approximately 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge.

The latter number is a vast improvement over the base EV9, which has a targeted range of 223 miles (359 km). That being said, the entry-level variant has a more powerful electric motor that produces 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). This, along with the lighter weight, enables the standard EV9 Light to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph (190 km/h).

EV9 Wind e-AWD

Moving up the trim ladder is the $63,900 EV9 Wind e-AWD. It has a stylish exterior with LED lighting units, rain-sensing wipers, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The model also has a panoramic glass roof and a power liftgate.

Moving inside, drivers will find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 5-inch HVAC display. The seven-seater also sports SynTex upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charger, and a tri-zone climate control system. They’re joined by heated and ventilated front seats with eight-way power adjustment.

On the safety front, there’s navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist 2, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist. The model also has Blind-Spot Collision Warning / Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, and Lane Following Assist. They’re joined by High Beam Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning / Avoidance Assist, Parking Distance Warning, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist – among others.

Power is provided by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces 379 hp (283 kW / 384 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.7 seconds, before topping out at 124 mph (200 km/h). In terms of range, the 99.8 kWh battery pack should enable the crossover to travel up to 270 miles (435 km) on a single charge.

EV9 Land e-AWD

Buyers looking for more luxury can upgrade to the EV9 Land e-AWD, which begins at $69,900. It features a lightly revised exterior with “small cube” LED headlights, an illuminated grille, and larger 20-inch wheels. The model also has auto-dimming side mirrors and gloss black accents.

Most of the upgrades occur in the six-seat cabin, which boasts a power tilt/telescoping steering column, a digital rearview mirror, and stainless steel scuff plates. Other highlights include an illuminated Kia badge on the steering wheel, rear side curtains, and an ambient lighting system. Buyers will also find heated and ventilated rear seats as well as a 14 speaker Meridian audio system. They’re joined by a Blind-Spot View Monitor, a Surround View Monitor, and Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist.

The powertrain carries over from the Wind, but the EV9 Land has a Vehicle-to-Load capability. It’s also worth mentioning the standard 20-inch wheels drop the range to 253 miles (407 km), but 19-inchers are available to bring that distance back up to 270 miles (435 km).

EV9 GT-Line e-AWD

That brings us to the EV9 GT-Line e-AWD, which will set you back $73,900. The range-topping model is distinguished by unique fascias, gunmetal accents, and 21-inch wheels with a two-tone finish.

Moving inside, buyers will find “exclusive interior trim and garnish.” Kia didn’t go into many specifics, but said the model has a premium suede cloth headliner, stainless steel pedals, and special seats with GT-Line logos. Other highlights include a head-up display, a self-leveling rear suspension, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Parking Collision Avoidance Assist – Front, Reverse and Side.

On the performance front, the dual-motor all-wheel drive system has an increased output of 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque. While the extra power is welcome, the range is disappointing at 243 miles (391 km).

U.S. deliveries are slated to begin late this year and Kia will open reservations on October 16 at 10 am PDT. You can secure your spot online or at participating dealers for a refundable $750 deposit.
