The last pieces of the Kia EV9 puzzle are falling into place as the company has announced EPA-estimated ranges for the entire lineup.
Starting at the bottom, the entry-level EV9 Light has a 76.1 kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted motor producing 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). This setup enables the model to travel 230 miles (370 km) on a single charge, which bests the targeted range by 7 miles (11 km).
The distance champion is the $59,200 EV9 Light Long Range, which has a larger 99.8 kWh battery pack as well as a less powerful 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) motor. These changes enable the three-row crossover to travel 304 miles (489 km), which is slightly better than the original estimate of 300 miles (483 km).

The EV9 Wind e-AWD is rated at 280 miles (451 km) and so is the EV9 Land e-AWD. These are improvements of up to 27 miles (43 km). However, it will be interesting to see if the 280 mile (451 km) range only applies to variants equipped with 19-inch wheels.
Lastly, the $73,900 EV9 GT-Line e-AWD has 270 miles (435 km) of range which blows past earlier estimates of 243 miles (391 km). As a refresher, the model has a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 379 hp (283 kW / 384 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in five seconds flat and hit a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h).
Kia will begin accepting reservations on October 16 for a $750 refundable deposit. Customers who complete the transaction can receive a “suite of gifts” that includes a Webasto Go Dual Voltage Portable EV Charger, 1,000 kWh of charging with Electrify America, a complimentary three-year maintenance plan, and a year of “digital features and services.”
