The R34-generation Nissan Skyline GT-R is a JDM icon and a particularly desirable example has just appeared for auction in the UK. It may not break any records but few would deny that it looks incredible and would be the perfect addition to even the most comprehensive car collection.

This Skyline GT-R is painted in the most desirable of all Nissan colors, Midnight Purple III. It spent most of its life living in Japan before being imported into the UK in 2018. A look at the odometer reveals that it has been driven ~147,000 km (~91,000 miles) from new, although you could be forgiven for thinking it had just rolled out of the factory.

The Bring a Trailer listing notes that the front bumper, wing mirror caps, and taillight surrounds were repainted under the seller’s ownership and that a host of modifications have been made. For example, the car has a carbon fiber front splitter and canards, as well as a set of MeisterR coilovers. There is also an aftermarket exhaust system, a Cusco oil catch can, a Blitz boost controller, and a new Sony double-din audio system.

Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Painted In Midnight Purple III Is A Perfect Poster Car

Like all other Skyline GT-Rs from this era, the car is powered by a 2.6-liter twin-turbocharged RB26DETT inline-six with individual throttle bodies and dual overhead cams. Coupled with this engine is a six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel drive system with a limited-slip differential at the rear.

Given that the car is 23 years old, the interior has been well maintained. It features a faux carbon fiber dashboard cover, cloth bucket seats, GT-R floor mats, Kenwood speakers, and the original multimedia display that shows important vehicle functions.

It will be interesting to see how much the car sells for. A similar 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R painted in Midnight Purple II fetched $210,000 at an auction in the U.S. a few months ago, although that model was the more desirable V-Spec version.
