A Honda-themed watch for those who enjoy having all of the Type R vehicle codes engraved on their wrist

Casio’s Edifice presented a new watch designed as an homage to the Honda Type R legacy, with many bespoke features referencing the performance-focused models.
The outer ring of the watch’s dial is painted in Championship White, a Type R exclusive shade. Edifice added a matching ivory-white-colored leather band, with all of the Civic, Integra, and NSX Type R vehicle codes engraved on the side, and a contrasting Alcantara backside with red stitching.
The casing of the watch is made of carbon-fiber-reinforced resin, while the dial background has a dark honeycomb pattern reminiscent of a vehicle’s grille. Red is closely associated with the Type R series so it couldn’t be missing from the watch, including a red-themed Honda emblem with a 3D look. Type R emblems can be found on the metal ring, stopwatch button, and on the backplate making sure they remain visible from all angles.

While this is not a smartwatch, it can still connect to the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth, for some extra functionality without any fancy sensors. Instead, connectivity is used for automatically correcting the time based on the region and season, storing date/time/location stamps on the dedicated application, setting timers and alarms, transferring stopwatch data, and locating your smartphone as long as you’re within range.
The integrated solar charging capability allows the watch to be used for around 7 months on a full charge. As with other Edifice watches, the Honda Type R special has double LED illumination, and scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire glass.
Casio will formally introduce the watch during the Super Formula GP at the Suzuka Circuit on October 29 and will start accepting orders on November 1. The price for the Edifice Honda Type R Edition is ¥55,000 ($367) including tax in Japan. This is not the first collaboration between Casio Edifice and Honda, following the motorsport-themed Honda Racing Red Edition watch from last year.
