Hyundai’s latest SEMA build is based on the Kona, combining practical accessories with a number of styling modifications. The 2024 Hyundai Kona Jayde Concept was created for “urban adventurers”

The exterior features a “robin’s egg blue wrap”, contrasting the plastic cladding and the brushed black one-piece HRE 520M alloy wheels. The SUV also features discreet add-ons by Air Design, including the front lip, rocker panels, and rear spoiler extension. The sportier stance is accentuated by a set of Eibach lowering springs, bringing it closer to the ground by 2 inches (51 mm) while a set of 20-inch wheels features sticky 235/40/ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.

Hyundai Kona Jayde Concept Comes With A Roof Box, 20-Inch Wheels, And Lowered Stance

Besides the sporty bits, the highlight is the roof-mounted Thule Pulse Alpine cargo box. The same company supplies the roof rails and the Thule Epos bike carrier which in this case holds a Vintage Electric Rally e-bike in a custom, concept-matching configuration.

Inside, there is a pair of Recaro Sportster CS featuring a VW Golf GTI-style pattern that matches the exterior. The company also added a bunch of Hyundai Genuine Accessories like plush carpeted floor mats, sill plates, and a reversible cargo tray. Finally, the Scosche PowerUp 32K portable charger and the InVert 200 DC-to-AC adapter will power up all kinds of electronic devices.

Hyundai didn’t mention anything about the powertrain of the Kona Jayde Concept, but its exterior design reveals it is based on the ICE-powered Limited trim. The most powerful petrol engine that is currently available in the US-spec Hyundai Kona range is the turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol that makes 190 hp (142 kW / 193 PS), matching the sportier-looking N Line.

The Kona Jayde Concept was created in collaboration with Mobis, Hyundai‘s genuine parts and accessory supplier, showcasing the tuning potential of the SUV. The official debut of the concept is scheduled for October 31st at the 2023 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
