Police in Spring Hill, Tennessee want to hear from anyone with knowledge of a recent crash involving a Ford Super Duty. The vehicle in question hit a Mazda MX-5 Miata project car and then fled the scene. The owners found parts of the truck and are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Spring Hill is about 40 minutes south of Nashville and it’s where Nicholas Gaylan, 27, and his fiancée live. They were home and out in their own yard playing with their dogs around 10 p.m. on October 27th. That’s when Gaylan says he heard a loud noise, looked up, noticed the truck in question off of the roadway and headed toward them.

The couple said that the truck appeared to be traveling at highway speeds before it swerved to miss a tree and then their carport. Sadly, it ended up crashing into Gaylan’s 1991 Mazda Miata project car instead. The impact was violent enough that it pushed the sports car into the couple’s other car, a Mazda CX-5 SUV.

“It was such just a huge commotion of noise that I almost can’t even describe it. I’m still almost shaking thinking about it,” Belrose recalled to WKRN. “It was absolutely insane… the fact that he was coming at us, all we could do was run for our lives.” After leaving the roadway, nearly hitting people, animals, a tree, and a carport, the truck hit the Miata and drove away.

In fact, they cut off someone on Kedron Road in the process of fleeing the scene. Of course, they left behind a slew of pieces in the process. That includes a rear cover and broken light housings. Gaylan believes they belong to a 2018 or newer Ford F-250.

Now, he’s hoping that the press surrounding the incident will bring the driver to justice. He’s offering a modest $200 reward for any information that leads to an arrest. I’m tempted to double that for him. Idiots who drive like this truck driver don’t need to be on the road with the rest of us. They certainly don’t need to be damaging epic Miata project cars either. Anyone with info can contact the Spring Hill PD at 931-486-2632.
