Maserati has introduced a special edition of the MC20, named “Notte,” which translates to “night” in Italian. This limited-edition mid-engined supercar will be produced in a restricted quantity of 50 units worldwide, featuring a black-themed specification inspired by the “mystical and intense power of darkness.”

The first limited edition of the MC20 was developed by Maserati’s Fuoriserie department in conjunction with Andrea Bertolini, the automaker’s reference driver and a former GT1 world champion with the MC12 Corsa. For this project, the racing driver didn’t concentrate on the supercar’s chassis setup but instead collaborated with Maserati designers to craft a distinctive specification for both the exterior and interior.

The standout feature of this special edition lies in its magnetic matte “nero essenza” exterior color, which is as dark as the night itself. This black hue is complemented by a contrasting “matte white gold” finish adorning the Trident emblem, side logos, and Maserati lettering. The same “matte white gold” treatment extends to the accents on the 20-inch matte black birdcage wheels, known for their characteristic tri-spoke design. To complete the dark-themed exterior, the brake calipers are also finished in black, with carbon-fiber aero components adding to the overall aesthetic.

Moving inside, the sports seats are upholstered in black and grey Alcantara with yellow stitching, and yellow Trident emblems on the headrests bringing a colorful note. The Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel has carbon fiber inserts, while the exclusive metal plate with “Una Di 50” (one of 50) lettering between the headrests will make sure the passenger knows that is a limited edition.

The Maserati MC20 Notte remains unchanged in terms of performance and chassis compared to the standard model. It retains the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 dry-sump Nettuno engine, delivering 621 horsepower (463 kW / 630 PS) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque.

The limited edition is now open for global orders. While Maserati has not revealed the exact pricing, it’s safe to assume that, given the special features and limited availability, it will come at a premium compared to the standard MC20 Coupe or Ciello models. Additionally, MC20 Notte owners will have the privilege of being invited to a special track day event organized by Maserati to experience their new supercar.

Based on the information provided in the release, it’s highly likely that Maserati will continue to introduce more special editions of the MC20 in the future, aiming to attract the attention of collectors and affluent enthusiasts who appreciate the Trident brand. It’s worth noting that the mid-engined supercar also served as a base for the limited production track-only special MCXtrema and the GT2 racecar.
