Bentley employs a lot of talented craftspeople at its factory to make its cars exquisitely luxurious places to sit. Those skills are now being used to trim the interior of a Contest 67CS 20-meter (66-foot) sail boat that the brands say opens the door to finishing yacht interiors to match an owner’s car.
This project was commissioned after a visit to Bentley’s factory in Crewe. The automaker worked closely with Contest Yachts to design a unique interior utilizing the same techniques and materials that it uses in vehicles like the Continental GT and the Bentayga.
For instance, Bentley used the hand cross stitching technique throughout the interior of the yacht. That style is what it normally uses on the steering wheels of its vehicles. Elsewhere, the vessel features the same diamond quilted leather that is normally found on the seats of vehicles like the Flying Spur.

“Yacht interiors, like that of a car must be exact with precision detail,” said Dr. Matthias Rabe, head of engineering at Bentley. “Whilst it was a challenge for our design teams to adapt their craft skills to an interior, providing a totally bespoke extension to our automotive interiors for the water we are delighted with the result.”
In addition to the techniques found inside its vehicles, Bentley also furnished the yacht with items from its home collection. For example, its Malvern Chair, designed to as a tribute to its vehicles, can be found inside the Contest 67CS.
To ensure that all of the pieces fit inside the vessel precisely, Bentley used prototyping methods, such as 3D printing. By mocking up items, like the couch, it was able to ensure a perfect fit before the final product was ready to install.
Although the brands have worked together before, they are so happy about the results of this collaboration that it will form the basis of a new line, according to Arjen Conjin, the CEO of Contest Yachts.
“Previously for an enthusiast of both Contest and Bentley brands we styled and fabricated a one-off example of our Contest 59CS,” said Conjin. “This new arrangement, though, takes our cooperation to quite another level, creating the option of an additional dedicated line of Bentley-featured Contest Yachts.”
While the price of this particular Contest 67CS hasn’t been revealed, if you’re looking to match your yacht’s interior to your Bentley’s, we imagine money isn’t a issue.
