In recent years, we’ve seen a growing number of cars being outfitted with aftermarket carbon fiber body panels and quite often, these cars take the form of high six-figure restomods where money is no object for their owners. This Subaru WRX STI finished entirely in carbon fiber is not like that.
This particular WRX STI was recently showcased at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas and started out life as a regular 2009 model. The current owner, known as carbon_mike on Instagram, purchased it in 2012 with around 60,000 miles (~96,000 km) on the clock and used it as his daily for many years.
He replaced the engine at roughly 220,000 miles (354,000 km) and as it is now no longer his daily driver, but rather a “garage queen,” he has been able to overhaul the exterior with lots of carbon fiber goodies.

The modifications start with a thoroughly revised front fascia where there is a new bumper, splitter, and grille, all made from exposed gloss carbon fiber. The Subaru also rocks a set of aftermarket headlights and a new carbon fiber hood complete with hood pins and additional air extractors. This carbon fiber theme continues across the rest of the exterior. Indeed, every square inch is finished in carbon fiber, including the roof, the doors, the fenders, the pillars, and the entire rear end. There is also a massive rear wing made from the lightweight material.

While recently speaking about the car, the owner revealed that he never intended to build an all-carbon Subaru. He initially equipped it with a carbon hood, front fenders, and doors, before deciding he may as well replace every part with carbon fiber. Other exterior modifications made to the car include the fitment of Konig wheels, a special rear diffuser, and new taillights.
Upgrades continue into the interior where there is even more carbon, including the dashboard, door panels, and the roll cage.
