Watch Thieves Steal Two Lamborghinis Worth $500,000 From McLaren Boston Dealership

The owners of the McLaren Boston dealership weren’t too grateful when they returned from their Thanksgiving break to discover that a pair of Lamborghinis had been stolen from their lot. Police say they are still investigating the crime.

The theft took place in the early hours of Thursday, November 23, in Norwell, Massachusetts. Security footage from the dealership shows that two individuals managed to make their way onto the dealership’s lot, with each driving away in an exotic vehicle.

The cars, a Lamborghini Huracan and an Urus, are estimated to have a combined value of approximately $500,000. Unfortunately, the police have not yet disclosed (or may not know) the exact method the thieves used to steal the vehicles.

Security footage shows that one of the thieves managed to unlock the Huracan, apparently without breaking a window, and then drove away in a matter of seconds. Although precisely how they did that has not yet been made clear, there are a number of ways that car thieves use to break into modern vehicles electronically.

Previous reports have indicated that people who want to take a car that doesn’t belong to them can use something as simple as a relay, which merely extends the usable range of a key fob. Others can use ports located near the exterior of a vehicle to trick it into thinking that they have a key, though that tends to take longer, and they may have to remove a piece of exterior trim.

A number of recent break-ins at dealerships have also seen thieves take every single one of a dealership’s keys from their lockbox. There are no indications that McLaren Boston was previously the victim of a break-in, though.

However they did it, police say the thieves drove off towards Route 3, which connects Boston to the north with Cape Cod to the south.
