Rockstar Games is rolling out the red carpet for Grand Theft Auto fans, as they’ve officially announced that the first trailer for the sixth installment in the popular franchise will make its debut on December 5 at 9:00 a.m. ET. This isn’t just any trailer; it’s here to answer all your questions and give you the first peek at the highly-anticipated video game.

So, what’s in a name? Well, the trailer is about to spill the beans on that too. While most bets are on Grand Theft Auto VI, remember, this series doesn’t always play by the numbering rules, so there’s still a dash of speculation in the mix.

Additionally, the clip may reveal when we can expect the next GTA game to launch. Given that it has been more than a decade since the release of the last game, Grand Theft Auto V, players will likely be impatient no matter when it drops.

However, recent financial filings show that Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take Two Interactive Software, is expecting a whole lot of revenue in its next fiscal year (which starts in April 2024), suggesting that it is anticipating a new product to do extremely well. Analysts say that the upcoming GTA game would fit that bill.

What we won’t have to wait for is our first (alleged) look at the upcoming game, which was already leaked to TikTok by @i_see_in_4k. Eurogamer reports that the account may belong to the son of a Rockstar Games employee, who filmed a computer monitor, on which an impressive video game cityscape could be seen.

Previous leaks and reports have suggested that the next Grand Theft Auto will take place in a fictionalized version of Miami, Florida, and will build on 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The game is set to be much larger than that classic title, and, according to Marca, will be larger even than Grand Theft Auto V’s playable area. It may grow after that via updates.

While we wait for the map to grow, and for our characters to explore the world, we’ll have to watch the first trailer. Rockstar Games will release it on its YouTube channel tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. ET (6:00 a.m. PT, 2:00 p.m. GMT, 3:00 p.m. CEST).
