In a real-life Fast and Furious moment, a daring Nissan 370Z driver took the police on a wild ride through the residential streets of Chino, California. While they might have evaded the long arm of the law for now, their not-so-subtle getaway vehicle is anything but ordinary. Authorities are counting on the public to channel their inner detective and assist in tracking down this speedster and their far-from-stock ride.
According to a post by the Chino Police Department on Instagram, the Nissan driver accelerated up to speeds of 85 mph (137 km/h) in a residential area during the chase. Due to the danger posed to the public, officers broke off the chase in hopes that the Nissan Z would slow down and that they could catch them somewhere safer.
Now that the Nissan has managed to slip away undetected, authorities are relying on the watchful eyes of the public to help track down this highly customized sports car. Security camera snapshots offer glimpses of both the front and rear of the 370Z. The rear end notably features a custom rear bumper cover and, if our detective instincts serve us right, possibly a sleek carbon fiber hatch panel.

Perhaps even more descriptive is the front of the 370Z though. Not only is it completely missing the front bumper cover but it also has a custom hood. On it we can see ducts on each side of the center line. That’s surely not stock.
While many of these unique features are present on many cars the combination is likely very rare. Those who have information for the Chino PD are encouraged to call its traffic unit at 909-334-3231. Police last saw it near the intersection of Kimball and Main Street.
Curiously, these photos also show a license plate which one would assume authorities could use to find this car. Perhaps it’s a stolen plate or a novelty plate though so there’s no telling what’s happening on that front. This just goes to show, when you go all out with customizing your car’s exterior, it might turn heads, but it could also turn escaping from the police into a tricky art form
