The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Collector’s Edition marks the end of a legend, celebrating the end of Camaro production after 57 long years. What makes it special? This video from Hennessey Performance answers that question.
Chevrolet took the covers off the ZL1 Collector’s Edition alongside similar commemorative versions of the LT/RS, LT1, and SS at September’s Detroit Auto Show. Just 350 examples of the flagship Camaro ZL1 Collector’s Edition will be produced and each is finished in a special shade of Panther Black Matte paint, with the package adding an extra $14,995 on top of the base MSRP of $73,695 for a total of $89,690.

Every example also comes standard with a Black Metallic stripe and has the same front splitter and rear wing as the ZL1 1LE. Chevrolet is also equipping each car with black lug nuts, red brake calipers, and a serialized steering wheel badge. There is also a large carbon fiber stripe on the dashboard and special edition floor mats.

No changes have been made to the 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8, meaning it continues to pump out 650 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque. However, Hennessey notes that the owner of this car is having it fitted with the tuner’s Exorcist ‘Final Edition’ package that will lift grunt to 1,000 hp. Customers can choose to have the car fitted with either a 10-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed Tremec manual.
The matte black paint is certainly the highlight of the ZL1 Collector’s Edition. Not only does it distinguish it from a regular ZL1 but the Collector’s Edition versions of the LT/RS, LT1, and SS, are offered with a more subtle Panther Black Metallic paint job that just doesn’t have the same aggression nor menace as the matte black.
