Images of Michael B. Jordan’s Ferrari 812 Superfast splattered all over a street in Hollywood went viral earlier this month, but no reason was given for the crash. Now dashcam footage of the seconds prior to the 812 slamming into the rear end of a parked Kia has emerged, and we have a feeling that the cops and Jordan’s insurance company will be very interested to see it.

The new video shared by Instagram user ‘official_bagchaser_lingo‘ from behind the blue 812 as it drives down Sunset Boulevard shows the Ferrari running alongside another Ferrari, which appears to be a red 488. We can see that it’s dark and that the road is relatively busy with cars parked to Jordan’s right and a steady stream of vehicles heading towards the two exotics on the opposing lanes.

It’d be a stretch to say the Ferraris were outright racing. It could just be because there’s no sound, but it doesn’t really look like they’re pulling that hard at all, although they’re clearly moving sufficiently quickly for the 812’s rear end to get upset by something on the road surface. Maybe the blue Ferrari shifted gears right at the point where it’s fat rear tyres hit a bump, or a patch of oil. We don’t know. But we do know that the car steps out briefly to the right and almost immediately snaps left, just as the brake lights illuminate.

It’s not flamboyant slide and the 812 straightens up quickly. But by this point it’s stepped halfway out of the lane to the part of the road that’s packed with parked cars. If the whole event had happened five car lengths earlier, Jordan would have been able to recover in time to void the Kia, and all would be fine. Instead he’s left with a wrecked Ferrari and, following the release of this video, some awkward questions to answer.
