Mini continues to expand the redesigned Countryman lineup and their latest variant is the entry-level Countryman C.

Billed as a comfortable, spacious, and efficient crossover, the Countryman C has a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. It produces a combined output of 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 206 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque.

The engine is connected to a dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to the front wheels. This setup enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.3 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 132 mph (212 km/h). Furthermore, the model has a combined fuel consumption rating as low as 6.1 L/100 km (38.6 mpg US).

In Germany, four different trims are available and the entry-level Essential starts at €39,900. It features a relatively basic exterior with black plastic cladding and 17-inch alloy wheels. The model also has a limited color palette that consist of silver or optional black metallic.

While the exterior is bland in entry-level guise, the cabin has a stylish two-tone design and colorful cloth seats. Buyers will also find a round OLED display that measures 9.5 inches (240 mm) in diameter. It functions as a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system.

The model also sports a rear seat that can slide up to 5.1 inches (13 cm), enabling owners to prioritize rear seat legroom or cargo capacity. Speaking of the latter, the model can hold up to 51.6 cubic feet (1,460 liters) of luggage.

There’s no word on U.S. availability, but Americans can look forward to the Countryman S ALL4, which will start at $38,900 before a $995 destination fee.
