Cadillac hopes that it will reestablish itself as the “standard of the world” with the all-electric Celestiq but the specification of this particular Celestiq leaves a lot to be desired.

This particular Celestiq was recently snapped out and about on Woodward Avenue in Detroit and is unlike any other example we have seen up to this point. Whereas the examples previously displayed by Cadillac have been bathed in royal blue and silver, the individual who ordered this Celestiq has opted to have it painted in bright green.

We’re not sure of the specific color code or name of this paint but rather than a subtle shade of green that you may expect a typical Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Maybach buyer to opt for, it is more akin to the kind of green you would expect to find on a Lamborghini. While we’re all for Cadillac’s willingness to allow Celestiq owners to customize their vehicles as much as they’d like, perhaps it should have encouraged the owner of this car to opt for a slightly tamer shade of green.

While the spec of this Celestiq will no doubt divide opinions, the car itself seems quite promising. Strip away the bodywork and you will find many similarities to other Ultium-based models from General Motors but Cadillac says that numerous changes have been made to the platform for use with its flagship EV.

Power is provided by a 111 kWh battery pack driving a pair of electric motors with a combined 600 hp and 640 lb-ft (867 Nm) of torque. The car can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and travel up to 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge.
