2023 is almost behind us and Porsche is taking a look back at the year that was. As the 75th anniversary of the brand came and went, it unveiled new products, hinted at future ones, and paid homage to its roots. Artificial intelligence even makes a bit of a cameo perhaps hinting at future products and technology.

Porsche is flying high as this year comes to a close. In May, the automaker unwrapped the 718 Spyder RS with a flat-six from the 911 GT3 that revs to 9,000 RPM. Last month, the all-new Panamera arrived with up to 670 hp (500 kW) and a top speed of 195 mph (314 km/h). Let’s not forget the new PHEV Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid and its 729 ponies (544 kW) either.

Porsche Remembers 2023 With A Video Rewind From AI To Z

Of course, none of that can compare directly to the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport, a 612 hp (456 kW) track-only toy that costs seven figures. Porsche will only build 77 of them in total. Somehow, that might not be the most surprising car from the brand this year. The Mission X arrived in June and it just might show us what the future of Porsche looks like.

Equipped with an electric drivetrain only, the Mission X is said to make twice the downforce of a 911 GT3 while aiming for a target of one horsepower for every 2.2 pounds of weight. That all might sound like dreamland but Porsche seems sincerely interested in building it. A car like the Mission X would certainly fall in line with the 75 years of Porsche innovation that came before it.

If the next 75 is anything like the past, the brand and community will continue to grow and find new niches to delve into. Roughly half of the video below highlights the different adventures that Porsche owners experienced throughout the year and the camaraderie between them thanks to the cars.

It’s a fun look back at what was a largely positive year for Porsche. Do you have a favorite Porsche memory from 2023? Let us know in the comments below!
