It’s been more than eight months since Heritage Customs unveiled its first Valiance Convertible, based around the Land Rover Defender 90. Fast forward to the start of early 2024 and the Dutch coachbuilder has just finished work on its second example.

This Defender Valiance Convertible was built to the exact specifications of the owner and immediately stands out thanks to the Sunbeam Yellow paint. Bright colors on off-roaders like the Defender aren’t particularly common, unless you’re talking of the Jeep Wrangler and yet, the yellow works nicely on the Defender.

Various other elements of the body are finished in black, such as the front and rear bumpers as well as the rocker panels. There is also a black roll cage hidden beneath the electronically folding fabric roof. Heritage Customs creation also sits on new sporty wheels with a silver finish and one could be excused for thinking this was an official project from Land Rover itself.

Heritage Customs Builds Land Rover Defender Convertible, Charges $92k For The Job

Plenty of changes have been made to the cabin of the Defender Valiance Convertible too. All three front seats are clad in quilted black leather with yellow contrast stitching, giving the cabin a very premium feel. The coachbuilder has also bathed the dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels in black leather with yellow stitching. It has also installed a prominent aluminum accent on the dashboard.

Heritage Customs plans to build five examples of its droptop Defender 90 with prices for the conversion starting at around €85,000 ($92,000), excluding the price of the donor vehicle itself. The soft top can be finished in a host of different colors and shades and last year’s green example had a tan-colored roof, providing it with a unique and premium look. Interestingly, the coachbuilder does not offer any modifications to the Defender’s powertrain.
