Dealers will either fix the camera’s seal or replace the seal entirely on subject vehicles

Jaguar Land Rover is recalling almost 60,000 vehicles across the United States due to an issue with the reversing camera.
The recall notice issued through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reveals that the reversing camera on certain Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models will display a poor image or no image at all due to the possibility of water leaking into the camera housing and bezel.
A total of 58,729 vehicles are involved in the recall. These consist of 36,461 Range Rover models built for the 2018-2022 model years between July 5, 2017, and December 10, 2021, as well as 22,268 Range Rover Sport models from the 2018-2022 model years built from May 25, 2017, to April 28, 2022.

Land Rover says it started to receive a growing number of field reports about reversing camera issues towards the end of 2022 and initiated an investigation into them. In February 2023, the manufacturer was made aware that changes were made to the design of the camera part way through the 2018 model year and subsequent investigations and testing determined the camera may not be correctly sealed, allowing water to enter.

While Land Rover is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue, it has received 210 field reports in the U.S. related to rearview camera issues between January 30, 2018, and January 2, 2024.
U.S. dealers will be notified of the recall on February 1 while owners will be alerted on or before March 8. Approved Jaguar Land Rover repairers will remove and inspect the camera and if the camera itself is found to be fine, will simply fit a new seal. If the camera is damaged, it will be replaced and installed with a new seal.
