The wild creation you see before you is known as the Jensen Viperceptor and it was conceived as a limited-run model which would serve as a spiritual successor to the Jensen Interceptor. Between 25 and 50 examples were expected to be built and while it’s unclear precisely how many of them saw the light of day, one of them is looking for a new home.

The car was built by Valley Gas Speed Shop in Hampshire in the UK and started as a 1973 Interceptor. It was then completely stripped down and new panels were fitted, including the revised front and rear fascias, updated side skirts, and new side vents. In addition, the shop had to reposition the bulkhead and transmission tunnel and the car has also been fitted with headlights from a Chrysler 300C.

As the name of the car implies, it ditches the original engine in favor of the 8.3-liter naturally-aspirated V10 of a Dodge Viper. This behemoth of an engine is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The whole thing weighs just 1,270 kg (2,799 lbs) and we’re sure is an absolute blast to drive.

Thorough upgrades have been made on the braking and suspension fronts, too. For example, the Viperceptor rocks 14.5-inch vented and slotted discs at the front with six-piston calipers as well as 13.5-inch vented and slotted discs at the rear with four-piston calipers. Plenty of other changes have been made, including the fitment of fully adjustable dampers with modified springs and a Salisbury Powerlock limited-slip differential.

Found in the cabin are plush leather upholstery, new carpets, a redesigned center console, a three-spoke steering wheel, and an updated audio system with satellite navigation and Bluetooth.

The car has been driven 2,496 miles (4,016 km) and Historics Auctioneers expects it to sell for between £80,000 (~$101,600) and £105,000 (~$133,000).
