Hot hatches are nearly extinct from the supermini segment and things won’t get better at least until the new generation of EVs takes over. Thankfully, tuners are here to fill that gap by spicing up popular models that don’t include a sporty version in their range. A fitting example is Irmscher’s kit for the Opel Corsa, which includes a series of visual, chassis, and performance upgrades.

Irmscher already offered a tuning package for the Opel Corsa F, but this has now been renewed to be compatible with the recently facelifted version. Starting with the exterior, the bumper extensions and the deeper side skirts look like something that Opel could offer as part of an OPC, GSi, or GSe trim. The same applies to the optional black-finished hood and roof combined with red accents. There’s even an extra wing mounted on the rear spoiler.

Opel Corsa Gains Sporty Bits, A Lowered Suspension, And More Power By Irmscher

The Opel Corsa also benefits from a new set of multi-spoke 18-inch “Turbo Star” alloy wheels, available in black or bi-color finish. Furthermore, the lowered suspension brings the supermini closer to the ground by 30 mm (1.2 inches) improving its stance and handling.

The bodykit, the wheels, and the chassis tweaks are compatible with all powertrain types of the Corsa, including the EV. On the contrary, the performance upgrades are restricted to the ICE-powered versions of the Corsa, adding up to 20 hp (15 kW / 20 PS) of power, depending on the engine.

The most potent version of the Opel Corsa from the factory – excluding the EV – comes fitted with a mild-hybrid turbocharged 1.2-liter engine that makes 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS). In any case, Irmscher’s power boost will likely be compatible with other Stellantis models that are using the same powertrains, including the closely related Peugeot 208.

The Remshalden-based tuner has yet to announce pricing for the Opel Corsa upgrades that will soon be available via its online shop.
