Zagato, one of the most widely known and respected names in the design and coachbuilding business, has a new project coming up on February 21, in collaboration with Polish supercar dealer La Squadra. The mysterious grand tourer is called AGTZ Twin Tail and “has its roots on the Le Mans grid”.

The first teaser of the AGZT Twin Tail is too blurry to reveal anything other than the aerodynamic low-slung silhouette of the vehicle, and the bright blue shade of the exterior. The accompanying text is similarly coy on details, although it comes with a promising title: “One car, two souls”.

Zagato Teases AGTZ Twin Tail, A Coachbuilt Special Inspired By “A Forgotten Le Mans Icon”

Zagato says that the AGTZ Twin Tail is a “contemporary GT car with an utterly captivating plot twist” that pays homage to a “forgotten Le Mans icon”. While the announcement doesn’t include the name of the classic racer, the source of inspiration is described as a model with “unfulfilled potential”. There is no word on specs, making us wonder which supercar or exotic GT will serve as the base for the coachbuilt model.

The AGTZ Twin Tail will debut at the Zagato atelier in Milan on February 21. La Squadra, a well-known supercar distributor from Poland, will be responsible for sales and marketing. We don’t know how many examples of the AGTZ Twin Tail will see the light of day, but chances are we’re looking at a very limited production run. As for the target group, it is described as “discerning collectors who seek exclusive and provocative cars which balance form and function in a truly intrepid manner”.
