One of Bentley’s major contributions to the automotive industry is keeping the flame of old-school luxury burning. And there are few clients that embody that spirit more than the British royal family, which gives this particular 2003 Arnage R very apt provenance.

Sold new to HRH Princess Anne – that’s King Charles III’s sister and Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest daughter, for readers who don’t follow the family – this example was reportedly in her collection until 2006.

In that time, it covered around 10,000 miles (160,093 km), and it has added another 35,000 miles (56,327 km) since then. Since it belonged to a member of the royal family, it was equipped with special blue lights that are hidden behind the grille, which you can use to impress your friends in your garage.

On top of its royal provenance, this is also the spicy R version of the car. That means it’s equipped with a hopped up version of the standard Arnage’s 6.75-liter V8, which benefits from the addition of two Garrett T3 turbochargers.

Thanks to these modifications, the engine produced 399 hp (298 kW/405 PS) and 616 lb-ft (835 Nm) of torque when new. Princess Anne is known as Britain’s “hardest-working royal,” and she was sure to get to her appointments on time in this Arnage.

Said to have been serviced no fewer than 14 times since the princess gave up ownership of it, the seller reports that the car is in excellent condition. However, it is currently registered on the Isle of Man, meaning that even buyers in the England will have to go through a bit of effort to register it correctly.

Offered for sale at Historics Auctioneer’s Ascot Racecourse event on March 2, it is estimated that this 2003 Bentley Arnage R will go fetch between £26,000 and £32,000 (around US$32,900 to US$40,400 at current exchange rates), which is pretty good for one of these cars.
