The latest motorsports-themed kit from Lego features two of Bavaria’s most iconic modern-day racing cars: the BMW M Hybrid V8 and the BMW M4 GT3.

The dual-pack consists of 676 pieces sitting under the Speed Champions line. While not as demanding or as intricate of the more advanced Lego Technics series, Lego says that the authentic build and play experience is suited to both younger fans (recommended from the age of nine) as well as more mature Lego creators. Count us among the latter.

First up is the BMW M4 GT3. The real-life creation takes part in the LMGT3 category within FIA WEC races, and will be seen at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Love it or hate it, BMW’s design direction seems to have translated rather well into the blocky world of Lego kit cars. Amusingly, the grilles on the M4 GT3 appear even squarer than in reality, leaning into that bucktoothed aesthetic. But the rest of the kit features some intricate details, including exhaust tailpipes, a spoiler, and a detailed interior. There are even some curved wedges to replicate the sloping rears of the cars.

The BMW M Hybrid V8 is the company’s hypercar entrant, with the German manufacturer returning to prototype racing in the endurance series. The Lego recreation of the M Hybrid V8, which can also be found in the GTP category of the IMSA series, features an equally detailed interior and a large wrap-around windscreen.

Each car’s bricks come with the BMW M Motorsport paintwork and a bevy of stickers to recreate the liveries of the real-life race machines. In addition, the roof panels of both the BMW M Hybrid V8 and the BMW M4 GT3 can be removed. Not only does this allow for a better look inside the cockpits, but builders will also be able to place one of two racing driver figures (supplied as part of the set) inside the cars.

The two-pack kit is on sale now for at a recommended retail price of €49.99 in Europe and $44.99 in the U.S. It’ll be available for purchase directly from Lego or the BMW online shop, and In Europe and the UK, the set can also be snagged at BMW dealerships — perhaps the perfect project to complete while waiting for a service.
