Texans can now buy a special version of the 2024 Jeep Gladiator not available anywhere else. The new variant is dubbed the Texas Trail and is based on the existing Gladiator Sport S but includes several distinct features.

Jeep says it is paying homage to Texas with the special Gladiator as it is the largest market for its pickup. All examples of the Gladiator Texas Trail come standard with 17-inch black-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in 32-inch mud-terrain tires. The truck also includes special decals on the hood and tailgate with the year ‘1836’ as a nod to the Texas Declaration of Independence.

Shoppers will be able to order the Gladiator Texas Trail in Bright White, Granite Crystal, Hydro Blue, Firecracker Red, High Velocity, or Anvil. It is offered exclusively with a 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated Pentastar V6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

“The Jeep brand fully appreciates that Texas is the largest Gladiator market in America in addition to being the country’s largest truck market,” senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America, Bill Peffer, said. “Gladiator special editions allow us to connect with our passionate customers, and this newest special edition builds on the success of the previous Gladiator Texas Trail, which was the fastest selling Gladiator model in Texas last year, selling nearly three times faster than the average Gladiator.”

Key standard features of the truck include a body-colored hardtop, steel rock rails, keyless entry, power heated mirrors, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, a remote start system, universal garage door opener, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen.

The first examples will reach dealerships in May with prices starting at $48,090, including a $1,895 destination charge.
