Every Ferrari is special, but the Enzo is one of the brand’s most iconic and desirable models with some low-mileage examples selling for over $4 million on the used market. Sadly, one of the 400 units built has been badly damaged in a crash on the German Autobahn.
The crash reportedly occurred on the A99 section of the Autobahn near Munich on Tuesday morning at approximately 11:20 a.m. The Munich Police Department says that as the driver approached the Neuherberg exit, they lost control of the powerful supercar and slammed into the guardrail in the center of the motorway.
No other vehicles were hit by the Enzo itself, but at least one car was struck by the very expensive parts thrown from the Ferrari. Debris was spread more than 200 meters (~650 feet) from the wreck. Three people were hospitalized for injuries sustained in the crash, including at least one individual in the car hit by parts from the Enzo.

It is unclear if the owner of the Enzo was the one driving it, but a rumor from the Ferrari Chat forum suggests a mechanic or employee from the nearby official Ferrari dealership in Munich may have been behind the wheel.
Just two images of the crash have been shared online by the Munich Police Department. The most revealing of these photos shows that the front fascia of the Ferrari has been destroyed. The front bumper, hood, and headlights have been completely torn from the car and the driver’s side front wheel and suspension components have been badly mangled. It is difficult to determine if the carbon fiber monocoque underpinning the car has been damaged too.
While the damage is severe, the car should be repairable, as long as someone is willing to pay the exorbitant amount that will be needed to return it to the road. In 2006, an Enzo was famously split in half along the Pacific Coast Highway but years later, was repaired and sold for approximately $1.75 million at auction.
