Aston Martin said goodbye to the DBS with the 770 Ultimate limited edition last year, but fans will be happy to know that its replacement is expected to debut in 2024. A camouflaged prototype of the new flagship grand tourer was caught by our spy photographers, revealing some of the redesigned bodywork.

At the moment, it is not clear if the new model will keep the DBS moniker, or revert to the Vanquish nameplate since Aston Martin canceled plans of using the latter in a mid-engined supercar.

The bodywork appears to have been completely redesigned. At the front, the grille is wider than before, bringing more air into the engine compartment alongside the vented hood. The almond-shaped headlights mounted on the fenders are a typical styling trait of Aston Martin, as with the long dash-to-axle ratio. The front fenders may feature the signature gills which are now hidden under the camouflage wrap.

New Aston Martin DBS Spied Flaunting Sexy Tail, May Keep V12

The rear end looks typically Aston Martin classy, thanks to the integrated ducktail spoiler and the new type of LED taillights. The full-width red tape is probably there to trick our eyes, as it doesn’t coincide with the panel gaps around the clusters. We can also see the quad tailpipes and the diffuser, looking somewhat similar to the smaller Vantage.

The grand tourer is rumored to retain the V12 powertrain, most likely surpassing the 760 hp (566 kW / 770 PS) figure of the DBS 770 Ultimate. This would give it a serious advantage over the 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS) of the V8-powered DB12 alongside a unique suspension setup for sharper driving dynamics. Besides the V12, there are also rumors about an electrified version with a Mercedes-sourced PHEV powertrain that could follow in the future.

Aston Martin is keeping its cards closed on the debut date of the DBS successor. Autocar reports it could take place at the Monterey Car Week this August, following several Aston Martin debuts in the same event.
