  • The sportier Mini Cooper S 2-Door will make its first appearance for American buyers at the New York International Auto Show
  • Buyers can personalize their hatch with three trim levels and two “style” packages, but there’s only one gasoline 201 hp engine option for now.
  • Pricing starts at $33,195 for the Signature trim, and rises to $38,295 for the Iconic.

The 2025 Mini Cooper S 2-Door has landed in America, and like so many before it, its first stop is in New York. With updated (albeit very familiar) style, and a starting price of $33,195 (all MSRPs listed here include the $995 destination charge), the little car is looking to make an outsized impression on the Big Apple.

For 2025, the Mini Cooper S 2-Door will be offered with a single engine, two style packages, and three trim level packages. Under the hood, all examples will be equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that makes 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. That’s enough to get the car to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.3 seconds. Unfortunately, there’s no manual gearbox this time around with all models pairing the inline four with an automatic transmission.

Owners of the new Mini will be able to differentiate themselves with a pair of “Style” packages. The “Classic” style features cloth and Vescin (vegan leather) upholstery options, piano black exterior accents, a black dashboard topper with blue undertones, a steering wheel with silver accents, and a gray headliner.

The “Favoured” style, offers two Vescin upholstery options (which add $500 to the price of the vehicle), Vibrant Silver exterior accents, a gray or a beige dashboard topper with a herringbone patter, a closable box in the center console, and a black headliner. It also gets a Spray-Tech multitone roof, which features a three-color gradient, but will only be available on vehicles assembled in July or later.

When it comes to trim packages, the offerings start with the Signature option, which offers buyers a choice of four exterior paint colors, but you will be limited to a monotone vehicle — unlike in the other trims, where buyers can opt the roof and mirror caps to be painted black or white. The base model also comes with 17-inch rims, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats.

The Signature Plus trim adds $2,400 to the price of the vehicle and another four paint colors to the list of options. It also offers a choice 17 or 18-inch rims, and remote engine start. The Iconic trim has all of that, plus the Comfort Package Plus, which has auto dimming mirrors, a parking assistant, keyless entry, augmented reality navigation, and wireless charging for your smartphone. The package adds $5,100 to the price of the vehicle.

Inside, all 2025 Mini Cooper S 2-Doors will be offered with the same, round OLED central touchscreen. For buyers who get the optional Mini Experience Modes, the dash will act as a screen onto which illuminated graphics are projected, to give the car even more personalization options.

Production of the 2025 Mini Cooper S 2-Door started this month, and vehicles will hit U.S. showrooms in May. You can build your own car on Mini USA’s website.
