A 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder that has never been registered will be available at a Hong Kong auction running from April 2-5 and is expected to sell for between $1.5 million and $2 million.

The 918 Spyder launched as one of the ‘hypercar holy trinity’ alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1. While there are many low-mileage examples out there, few are thought to have been driven less than this one. Over the past decade, it has been driven less than 70 km (43 miles) and has been owned by a single person in Hong Kong. It has also never been registered for road use. The listing doesn’t specify how the car has racked up 70 km without being registered.

Nevertheless, this car is known to be one of just four examples originally built to Hong Kong specifications and is number 513 of the 918 units produced. It is painted in Rhodium Silver Metallic and features various Acid Green details, including the brake calipers. It also features the desirable $80,000 Weissach package with magnesium center-lock wheels, six-point racing harnesses, and several carbon fiber parts.

This 918 Spyder also rocks a front-end lift system, fire extinguisher, air conditioning, and a Burmester sound system. The cabin is bathed mostly in black leather but does include several Acid Green details.

Since being delivered, this 918 Spyder has been kept in climate-controlled storage, and in January, the high-voltage battery was replaced by Porsche Centre Hong Kong.

The low mileage and its pristine condition mean the car is bound to appeal to anyone who missed out on a 918 when it was first launched. A complete diagnostic test and inspection from the local Porsche dealer has found no faults so its 4.6-liter naturally-aspirated V8 and complex hybrid system should run as good as new.
