One of Nissan’s best-selling nameplates is ready for a mid-lifecycle update

Nissan published the first official teaser of the upcoming Qashqai, revealing some of the exterior and interior updates. The facelifted compact SUV will premiere on April 17 in Europe, with other markets – including Australia – likely following in the coming months. Like before, the model is not expected to be available in the U.S. following Nissan’s decision to discontinue the Rogue Sport.
The third generation of the Nissan Qashqai was introduced in 2021, and three years later, it is ready for a mid-lifecycle update. The video teaser doesn’t mention the Qashqai by name but clearly shows the familiar silhouette of the compact SUV.

Predictably, the front end has been refreshed with a wider grille flanked by a new set of LED headlights. These are still interrupted by body-colored trim but have a slightly different shape and fresh graphics. The front bumper has also been revised with larger triangular intakes creating a stronger 3D effect.
Other revisions include new wheel options and refreshed body cladding around the wheel arches. The tail is barely visible in the teaser but we expect it to carry on largely unchanged.

While the interior shots are quite dark, we can still see the carry-over digital cockpit and steering wheel. The outgoing model features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch infotainment display, and a 10.8-inch heads-up display, which could get updated graphics. However, the dashboard upholstery appears to be new. It is safe to assume that equipment will be further improved in terms of comfort and safety features.
We don’t expect significant changes on the powertrain lineup, since the Nissan Qashqai already offers a selection of mild-hybrid and full hybrid setups. The entry-level turbocharged 1.3-liter mild-hybrid engine makes 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS), while the flagship e-Power 1.5-liter hybrid is good for 187 hp (139 kW / 190 PS) with the electric motor moving the wheels. Nissan has confirmed that a fully electric version of the Qashqai will follow after 2025, although this one will be based on a different, EV-dedicated architecture.
