  • This Bronco DR is painted in Porsche’s NATO green and includes a $38,000 option package.
  • The extreme off-roader is powered by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with 418 hp.
  • Previously listed for sale, this never-driven Bronco DR is now headed for auction.

The Ford Bronco DR is unlike any other car out there. It could be considered the off-roading equivalent to a track-only supercar and is capped at just 50 units worldwide, none of which can be driven on the street. Now, one of them is up for auction.

It’s worth noting that rumors have circulated about Bronco DR buyers facing a two-year restriction on reselling their vehicles. Considering that deliveries weren’t scheduled to begin until fall 2022, such a no-sale clause could potentially violate contracts if it indeed existed. However, it’s also entirely possible that there never was a two-year no-flipping clause for the Bronco DR in the first place.

This most capable version of the Bronco is similar to the version that Ford raced at the Baja 1000 and built by Multimatic Motorsports in Ontario, Canada, just like the Ford GT supercar. When it was new, each unit had an MSRP of $295,000, an extraordinary sum that makes it almost eight times more expensive than an entry-level Bronco for the street.

The original owner of this Bronco DR commissioned it to be painted in Porsche’s NATO Green with a color-matched hardtop. It looks superb and hasn’t even been driven a single mile since it was built. It also includes the $38,000 Baja package that added things like rock lights, LED light bars, and sirens. The listing doesn’t mention the off-roaders’ build number.

Ford and Multimatic went to town to make the Bronco DR the ultimate off-roader. For example, it comes equipped with Multimatic’s Positional Selective DSSV dampers at both the front and rear, providing 15.8 inches (400 mm) and 17.4 inches (443 mm) of travel respectively. It also rolls on 17×8.5-inch beadlock wheels with 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 all-season tires and provides 11.8 inches (~300 mm) of ground clearance.

Powering the Bronco DR is a Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, generating around 418 horsepower in this configuration. Initially listed for sale by Canepa through duPont Registry, this vehicle is now set to go under the hammer at auction.

The most recent Bronco DR sold at auction was an example with a stunning color flip paint finish. It fetched $365,000.
