  • A Ford Ranger driver lost control in Brockton, Massachusetts, early Friday morning.
  • The driver hit a fire hydrant, struck a building, and then came to a stop balanced atop three vehicles.
  • Investigators are still looking into the crash, and the driver at the center of it reportedly fled the scene.

Authorities are currently unraveling the tangled aftermath of a bizarre crash that unfolded on Friday morning in the town of Brockton in Massachusetts. The incident is certainly worthy of the term “wild,” not only due to the driver’s hasty departure from the scene but also because of the unconventional parking spot chosen by the pickup truck at the heart of the chaos.

The accident unfolded around 2:34 a.m. on Montello Street. Based on the damage at the scene, firefighters suspect that the Ford Ranger involved first collided with a fire hydrant before striking the front porch of a building.

Arguably, the most stunning part of the incident is what happened after that. The Ranger launched into the air, apparently spun, and came to a rest perfectly balanced atop a trio of parked vehicles, seemingly suspended in midair.

Photos shared by Brockton Fire Department show that the rear of the truck is propped up by a Ford Transit van, while the front left wheel rests atop a blue pickup truck. Adding to the spectacle, the front right wheel was perched on the hood of an Infiniti FX35.

While the Ranger clearly suffered damage in the accident, the pictures suggest that it held up remarkably well, considering the forces that must have been at play here. Indeed, in one of the photos, it looks like the truck took a bite out of the corner of the building it crashed into.

Fortunately, since the accident occurred so early in the morning, there weren’t any people around for the Ford to hurt. On the other hand, that also means that no witnesses have yet come forward to help investigators understand what led to this accident.

However, this section of Montello Street is long and straight, allowing drivers to pick up speed, reports Boston 25 News. Brockton Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to reach out to them to aid their inquest.
