  • Pagani is building just 99 examples of the V12-powered Utopia.
  • Complementing the carbon fiber finish of this Utopia is an interior also clad in carbon.
  • The Italian hypercar is offered with a six-speed manual and an automated sequential gearbox.

The first Pagani Utopia in the U.S. has just been delivered and joins an enviable collection that also includes a Koenigsegg Regera, Bugatti Chiron, McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari, and a Pagani Huayra Roadster BC.

It has been about 20 months since Pagani unveiled the Utopia in Italy and the first customer deliveries started last year. While it has taken a little while for it to land on American soil, it looks to have been worth the wait.

The owner of the hypercar has opted to have the exterior bathed in exposed carbon fiber, an expensive option from the factory. It is also sitting on a set of gorgeous silver wheels and has gold brake calipers. Running over the center of the hood, across the roof, and along the engine cover is a maroon-colored piece of carbon fiber trim with gold-painted accents.

When Pagani unveiled the Utopia, the cabin was dominated by lots of aluminum parts. However, the owner of this example has had much of the cabin clad in carbon fiber. This includes the dashboard, air vents, steering wheel, instrument cluster surround, and the transmission tunnel. We can also see brown leather applied across the door panels, steering wheel, and dashboard, and suspect similar leather is hidden beneath the seat covers.

The Utopia can be ordered with either a six-speed manual transmission or an automated sequential gearbox. While both have shift knobs and shifting mechanisms that almost look identical, this Utopia appears to have the sequential, rather than the six-speed. Nevertheless, we’re sure the twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 makes it an absolute animal to drive.

Just 99 examples of the Utopia are bound for the production line. Prices in the U.S. start at $2.19 million but we suspect that once customers start ticking a few of the options boxes, like that for the exposed carbon fiber finish, some units will probably cost more than $3 million.
