2023 Maserati GranTurismo Shows More Of Its Design In Latest Spy Shots

Maserati has been teasing us with the new generation GranTurismo since May 2021 but development work is still ongoing. Our spy photographers caught a prototype of the sportscar wearing less camouflage than before, giving us the best look yet at its evolutionary design.

We are not really sure yet that the headlights on this test car are the final ones, but they do look awfully similar to the ones in the MC20. The yellow markers on the LED headlights suggest that this is a US-spec example, while the outer shape has hints of the Ferrari 599 GTB along with the low nose and the vented bonnet. The front bumper has shed most of its camouflage, revealing sporty intakes surrounding the Trident grille that gets a more rounded shape.

While the overall silhouette is similar to its predecessor, the more pronounced fenders, the flush door handles, and the clamshell bonnet with three slimmer slits seem to make a difference. At the back, the LED taillights have a similar shape to the MC20 supercar, while the lower part of the bumper is fully uncovered showing the diffuser and the quad exhaust pipes.

This test car is most likely fitted with the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 as the MC20, where it produces 621 hp (630 PS / 463 kW) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. Besides the very potent V6, both the GranTurismo and the GranCabrio models will get fully electric variants, in line with Maserati’s electrification strategy.

The Maserati GranTurismo appears to be in the latest stages of development so we wouldn’t be surprised if it was to be unveiled sometime in the coming months. This year will be full of debuts for Maserati, including the MC20 Convertible and the Grecale SUV that has been confirmed for spring.
