Rutledge Wood’s Blurple Toyota Camry SEMA Cost Over $100k To Build, Could Be Yours For $39k

The 2018 Toyota Camry that was brought to life with the help of former Top Gear U.S. host Rutledge Wood is looking for a new home.

This Camry was built for the 2017 edition of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It takes inspiration from the aerospace industry and was modified by Real Time Automotive Solutions. It does not benefit from any hugely significant performance upgrades but it is certainly striking.

The first thing that will likely catch your eye is the deep ‘Blurple’ paint finish applied to the body which, to our eyes, looks absolutely fantastic. A plethora of custom body panels have then been fitted to the car, many of which were crafted using 3D-printing technology.

Among the most striking upgrades are the flared wheel arches, the revised front bumper and splitter, the side skirts, rear bumper, rear diffuser, and the large rear lip spoiler. A gloss black roof helps to offset the Blurple paint, as do a set of 20-inch Rotiform wheels finished in Rose Gold and wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact tires.

The interior of the Camry has also been overhauled with tan-colored leather across the seats, dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel. Real Time Automotive Solutions also fitted a Focal sound system that includes a subwoofer and amplifier in the trunk. Complementing these upgrades is a suspension kit from Megan Racing to drop the car’s ride height and a set of Wilwood brakes.

The eBay listing says that over $100,000 was spent on the project and has listed the car with bids starting from $34,999 or for a Buy It Now price of $39,000. The car started out life as a Camry V6 XSE, meaning it is powered by a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 with 301 hp and 267 lb-ft (362 Nm) of torque which is sent through the front wheels.
