1984 Porsche 935 From DP Motorsport Will Make You Question The Need To Own A House

Porsche has built so many extraordinary race cars over the years that it is almost hard to keep up with them all. One of the absolute finest from its stable is the 935, a car that had a successful five-year tenure competing in some of the most prestigious races on earth.

Among the men that played a part in the story of the 935 was Ekkehard Zimmermann, the founder of DP Motorsport who produced the bodykits for the 935 models that were run by Kremer Racing. A particularly intriguing example from DP Motorsport is now up for sale.

The car in question is a 1984 example and has been listed up for sale through R & H Motor Car Group in Ohio. No price tag has been made public but if you’re wanting to cruise around in a Porsche that stands out, this is one way to do it.

Few details are provided about the history of this car but it appears to be one of the rare few vehicles that DP Motorsport built for the street in 1984. As far as we can tell, the car is based on a G-Series Porsche 911 that was outfitted with a plethora of modifications, including a bodykit reminiscent of those used by 935s that actually competed.

The listing states that the car has undergone a bare tub rotisserie restoration that saw the car get stripped back and essentially get rebuilt from the ground up. As part of this process, the underpinnings of the car were overhauled and painted red. All key mechanical components, such as the brakes and suspension, were replaced before the body was also painted red. The interior and the 3.3-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six has also been rebuilt, as has the four-speed manual transmission.
