The Lamborghini Countach is widely viewed as a quintessential supercar, the kind featured on posters adorning the bedroom walls of kids all around the world. Now, a Countach formerly owned by someone who actually had a poster of the car stuck to his wall as a child is heading to auction.
This particular 1988 Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole has been listed by Mecum Auctions and will be sold during its Indy 2022 auction running from May 13-21. It comes from the collection of Asi and Lisa Sheikh who, as far as we can tell, appear to be involved in Domino’s.

The listing doesn’t state when Asi Sheikh first acquired the car but says that it perfectly matches the Countach he had stuck to his wall when he was growing up. It remains in its original condition and looks just as extraordinary today as it did when it first left the factory.
Adorning the exterior of the Lamborghini is a simple shade of gloss black that perfectly suits the car’s wild exterior design. Contrasting the black paint are a number of gold accents, including the gold telephone-dial wheels and the badges across the rear fascia. While it has the ugly bumperettes that adorned U.S.-spec models, these could be easily removed by whoever ends up buying it. The Countach’s iconic rear wing is also present.
Found in the cabin is black leather across the seats, transmission tunnel, and dashboard. Also catching the eye is the gated five-speed manual shifter, the kind that is fast becoming a relic of the automotive industry.
Mecum notes that the Countach has been driven 16,018 km (9,953 miles) since new and will be handed over to its next owner with the original manual, services records, leather mechanics gloves, a window sticker, and a clean CarFax report.
