One of just 700 Chevrolet Corvette models that were produced in 1955 will be auctioned off in mid-May and is quite unlike most other C1 ‘Vettes you’ve probably seen in the past.
Immediately catching the eye with this Corvette Convertible is the Harvest Gold paint scheme. Just 120 Corvette models built in 1955 are said to have featured this unique shade of washed-out yellow and while we wouldn’t actually consider it to be gold, it is just as eye-catching as the precious metal. Complementing the paint are white-walled tires with Harvest Gold accents and fittingly, the car is currently rocking Minnesota plates that read ‘Mustrd.’

Evidently, the car’s original owner wasn’t afraid of making a statement and also specified the ‘Vette with a dark green soft top to contrast the yellow paint. Then there’s the interior.
The cabin continues the yellow and green theme with Harvest Gold adorning the steering wheel, parts of the door panels, and the lower half of the dashboard while found across the top of the dashboard and across the upper portion of the door panels is dark green leather to match the soft top. As if that wasn’t enough to make this Corvette snap necks and drop jaws, it also has yellow leather across the seats and various other interior parts.
The Mecum Auctions listing notes that the car has undergone a comprehensive restoration and been driven just 150 miles (240 km) since. Found beneath the bold body is a 265 cubic-inch V8 pumping out 195 hp through the rear wheels thanks to a Powerglide automatic transmission.
No pre-auction estimate has been made for the car but C1 Corvette models in good condition can sell for over $100,000.
