Leaked Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica Is Son Of Sian

A new hardcore Lamborghini Huracan has leaked online a day ahead of its official reveal. Apparently called the Huracan Tecnica, the newest iteration of Lamborghini’s baby sports car slots in the range between the regular Huracan EVO and track-ready STO, according to information accompanying the leaked images.

Prominent leakers Wilcoblok and Varryx_ each showcased a different image of a green Huracan on their Instagram accounts, the most interesting feature about the car being a new bumper design with a Y-motif under each headlight clearly inspired by the Aventador-based Sian hypercar.

Nose aside, the Tecnica looks remarkably restrained for a car that advance rumors told us would be some kind of junior STO. There’s no roof scoop, no sign of the giant rear wing we recently saw affixed to the tail of what appeared to be a Tecnica testing in the snow, and no outlandish graphics package. But it’s possible that spoilers and stripes will both be available from the options list.

We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out if they are, and also to discover if Lamborghini has squeezed any additional power from its 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10. We’re guessing it hasn’t since even the STO runs the same 631 hp (640 PS) and 565 Nm (417 lb-ft) as the plain Evo version.

It doesn’t look like the Tecnica gets the STO’s wild flip-up clamshell nosecone, but according to the leakers, it does share its rear-wheel-drive layout and focus on driving fun over luxury and refinement. That means we can expect to see suspension settings designed to prioritize the new car’s twisty road and on-track ability over its comfort cruising around the streets of Monaco or Miami while being less uncompromising than its STO big brother.

The Tecnica should hopefully cost significantly less than the STO, too. A simple rear-wheel-drive Huracan Evo has an MSRP of around $209,000 and the better equipped all-wheel-drive car stickers at just over $261,000, but the STO came in at close to $330,000.

Do you think Lamborghini should have gone wilder with the Tecnica’s styling? Leave a comment and let us know.
