Watch A BMW Driver Summon All His Skill And Luck To Save 100 MPH Slide At Nürburgring

One skilled BMW driver in Germany had a more expensive dry cleaning bill than usual, as they experienced and drove away from a serious code brown moment at the Nurburgring.

The event was filmed and published by the driver of the following vehicle, who managed to capture footage of the accidental drift that reportedly happened driving at 155 km/h (93 mph).

Leading to the incident, the driver of the camera car can be seen pulling to one side to allow what appears to be a BMW E92 3 Series or M3 to pass. Although the camera car’s move is well behaved, the BMW driver carries a little bit too much speed into Flugplatz, missing the apex and running wide.

With two wheels off the track, they kick up some dirt. The back end then steps out and the driver makes, what can only be described as, a heroic drift, preventing the car from losing control completely and potentially running into the barriers or another car.

The drift is so spectacular that the driver of the camera car can be heard hooting and hollering and literally slapping their own steering wheel as they marvel and the skill (and luck) of the driver ahead.

The incident must have been less spectacular from the BMW‘s driver’s seat, though, because, upon regaining control, the clearly unchastened driver then quickly passes another car before speeding down the road.

I’m not sure how eager I would be to start pushing again after such a near miss but I guess that’s why I’m in a desk chair, not a racing seat.
