Go Where No Minivan Has Gone Before With This Lifted, Overlanding Ready Toyota Sienna

Overlanding has exploded in popularity, but it’s normally the domain of pickups and SUVs. However, that hasn’t stopped one owner from creating a rugged Toyota Sienna.

Currently listed on eBay with a buy it now price of $21,997 (£17,832 / €20,856), this modified minivan is ready for adventure as it features a 3 inch (76 mm) lift and 16-inch steelies wrapped in meaty BFGoodrich KO2 tires.

While those upgrades will help you venture off the beaten path, you’ll need a place to sleep once you get there. Fear not as this minivan is equipped with a pop up roof tent, which appears to accommodate two people.

The seller didn’t say much else about the 106,000 mile (170,590 km) minivan but, since it’s a 2004 Sienna XLE, it should come nicely equipped with heated leather front seats that feature eight-way power adjustment on the driver’s side. Other highlights should include a tri-zone automatic climate control system, woodgrain trim, rear sunshades, and HomeLink. Bidders can also expect to find a “Split & Stow” third-row seat and a 10-speaker JBL Synthesis audio system with a cassette and CD player.

Under the hood, there’s a 3.3-liter V6 engine that pumps out 230 hp (172 kW / 233 PS) and 242 lb-ft (328 Nm) of torque. While the 2004 Sienna was available with an optional all-wheel drive system, it appears this version is front-wheel drive as the listing claims the van “routinely betters the factory-stated 28 HWY MPG.” That’s worth mentioning as the front-wheel drive variant had an estimated fuel economy rating of 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, while the all-wheel drive model was listed at 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.
