A Mitsubishi Car Dealer In Chicago Is Selling A $3.79M Limo Jet

You’ve probably seen this bizarre ‘Limojet’ before and once again, it has hit the market.

We last heard about the Limojet in late March 2021 when it was announced for Mecum Auctions’ Indy sales event running from May 14-22 that year. That auction came less than 12 months after Mecum tried to sell it in mid-2020 but bidding stopped at just $600,000.

Now, as discovered by the folks at Jalopnik, the Learjet-based limo somehow ended up at Jidd Motors Mitsubishi in Des Plaines, Illinois. It is unclear how this Mitsubishi car dealership got its hands on the bizarre limousine, but it has an eye-watering price tag of $3.799 million.

Before its life as a limo, this was a Learjet 35 that took to the skies but back in the early 2000s, it was completely overhauled and turned into what you see today. The vehicle was the brainchild of Frank and Joanne DeAngelo from Exotic Coach Limousines and was designed by Dan Harris. It is claimed that the build took more than 40,000 hours over 12 years and at a cost of $1 million, hence why individuals and dealerships are always trying to sell it for so much.

In turning the private jet into a limousine, the fuselage had to be mated to a custom steel frame which took two years or research, design and development to construct. Making the limo stand out even further is the Dark Candy Red paint and a set of red and black 28-inch wheels.

The interior of the Limojet shares very little in common with its former self. Inside, there is a large bench seat clad in black leather with red contrast stitching on one side while the other side of the cabin has a bar. There is also plenty of underfloor lighting, an upgraded audio system, and a large TV.
