2023 BMW M3 Touring Teased Ahead Of Goodwood Unveiling

This month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will help celebrate the 50th anniversary of BMW M and play host to the public debuts of various new models.

The most important new car being presented at Goodwood will be the all-new M3 Touring which will be joined by an M3 Touring MotoGP Safety Car. BMW will unveil the long-awaited model on Thursday the 23rd of June at 10:00 am UK time (5:00 am EDT) during the event. An M3 Touring outfitted with various M Performance Parts will also be showcased.

Joining the M3 Touring at Goodwood will be the new M4 CSL, celebrating its UK premiere.

Elsewhere, Goodwood’s Central Feature will play host to a display of BMW M cars from the past, present and future. Among the vehicles displayed will include the legendary 3.0 CSL, a M1 Procar from the latest 1970s, a WTCC 3-Series E90, the Le Mans-winning 1999 BMW V12 LMR and the all-new BMW M LMDh racer.

Four important models will also make their way up the event’s famous hillclimb. These include the 1983 Brabham BT52 that will be driven by Pedro Piquet, the son of three-time F1 World Champion Nelson Piquet. The BMW V12 LMR will also be driven up the hill by Steve Soper and ex-BMW M chief executive Markus Flasch. A 635CSi and Z4 GTR will also race up the hillclimb.

BMW M will also have a large display stand at Goodwood. The stand will include vehicles like the E30 M3, E46 M3 CSL, M5 CS, M4 GT3, M850i Convertible, and the new i4 M50. The German car manufacturer will also bring along the Concept XM. A separate display will focus on BMW’s sustainability efforts and showcase the new i7 as well as the iX1, set to make its British debut. The iX M60 will also be displayed at the event and available for attendees to take on test drives, alongside the i4 and iX3.

“There can be no better place to celebrate our 50th anniversary than among our fans at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, surrounded by the iconic cars that have cemented our position in motorsport history,” BMW M chief executive Frank van Meel said. “But we’ll also spend our time at the world-famous event looking to the future, with a selection of exciting new models from our innovative electrified line-up, and the global premiere of the eagerly-anticipated first-ever BMW M3 Touring.”
